About Me

As far back as I can remember, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. I have watched my friends and family members struggle to figure out what they want to do with their lives. During career day in Middle School I saw my classmates trying to decide between being the President of the United States, a professional basketball player, a doctor and so many more. In high school I saw friends trying to decide which college to attend without knowing what their major was going to be. In college I saw my friends switching from major to major. Even today I see my adult friends abandoning their careers because it doesn't fulfill them. I am lucky to say I have never had this problem. I always knew I wanted to be a teacher. At the age of 4 I was teaching my stuffed animals with my chalkboard easel the letters of the alphabet. In high school I was asking teachers if I could teach their classes for the day. In college I went straight for the education degree and never turned back. Teaching is a passion of mine and for as long as I can remember, that is all I've wanted to do.

Today I am a high school teacher in Troy, New York. I teach 9th grade World History, AP World History, 11th United States History and Government and AP European History. I run our school's Social Media Club that is designed to allow students to run Social Media Pages for the school such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. I also coach girls basketball.
In my free time I enjoy being a volunteer firefighter and EMT. I also enjoy doing yoga, running and reading. I have my bachelors in Secondary Education and History with minors in English and Medieval Studies. My Master's is in Special Education.

I have a passion for travel and help run a travel abroad group at my high school. I also love designing lessons, work sheets and everything in between that not only teaches content but also teaches skills, which is why I started my TeachersPayTeachers store. I have no doubt in my mind that I am where I am supposed to be and I am very grateful for being lucky enough to be able to have a career I am passionate about and a life that I enjoy.
